What is Kuka?

Kuka is the fruit of a tropical tree. This fruit, which looks like a coconut, has a hard structure. In the Ottoman period, it was mainly used in the health sector. The reason for this is the antibacterial properties of the skullcap trees. This went so far that doctors who did not wear a tesbih were not even allowed into the palaces, and the public did not prefer to be treated by them. Also widespread are the Tesbih pearls, which darken over time and increase in value.
